The 63 Brigade of the Nigerian Army has uncovered an illegal weapons manufacturing factory in Delta State, capable of producing ten guns per week.

The Commander of the 63 Brigade, Brigadier General Ugochukwu Unachukwu, disclosed this during a briefing with journalists at the site of the illegal arms factory in Onicha Olona, Aniocha North local Government Area of the state. He revealed that materials for making improvised explosive devices (IEDs) such as shrapnel, detonators, and containers were also seized. Brigadier General Ugochukwu emphasized that the activities of the suspects significantly contributed to insecurity in the region and the nation.
MyEcoLens reports that eight individuals involved in the illicit business, including the mastermind of the operation, his father, mother, and sister, were apprehended at the factory. During interrogation, the prime suspect, twenty-two-year-old Emmanuel Eboka, confessed to renting some of the arms to criminal elements for a fee.
